close up Al Walters Life experiences, strong community ties, and professional training make Al well suited for leadership positions in community organizations. There are many opportunities for a CPA to help organize, advise, direct and lead at all levels in the nonprofit environment. Al has been participating in these processes since high school.

One of Al’s current engagements is with the land use based organization, Action Pajaro Valley. He has been on the board for ten years and currently is Chairman of the Growth Management Strategy Committee. Al Walters talking

This committee is charged with monitoring the compliance and results of an Urban Limit Line placed around the City of Watsonville. The line was created to allow the City to grow in a smart organized fashion over the succeeding 25 years while protecting rich farmland and valuable environmental resources from conflict and degradation. Al facilitates meetings wherein community stakeholders come together and create results through structured dialogue on positive courses of action to achieve identified goals. One of the goals is to engage with regional policy decision makers for increased efficiency and effectiveness to improve the quality of life in the valley and the Central Coast Region.
