Certified Public Accountant

Al working Al received his license to practice public accounting from the State of California in 1976 while working for a small firm in Salinas. He has performed financial audits on local governments, hospitals, labor unions, nonprofit organizations, trusts, public warehouses, churches, and manufacturing companies.

Integral to public accounting is a code of ethics that places confidential treatment of client interests as primary importance. Al has always operated with integrity and objectivity in his dealings with clients.

In the late 1970’s Al was the business manager for a multi-line automobile dealership in Santa Cruz. This experience gave him direct front line exposure to decision making during trying economic times.

In 1980 Al joined a small CPA firm in Watsonville and was soon offered an ownership opportunity and took on the title of audit manager. While conducting audits of County Cultural and Music organizations he made many connections within the arts community that awakened his deeper interest in the arts. That experience set the stage for more associations with the local art community and led to classes in dance, art history, drawing, sculpture, acting, and photography. He also operated a fine art gallery in downtown Santa Cruz. Al has developed and presented educational materials and seminars to translate his knowledge of business, accounting, and taxes to creative professionals including artists and engineers. He is currently taking economic classes at University of California Santa Cruz to further his value to the community.
